But did you know that baking soda is also a product that is very helpful in the garden?
Baking soda, instead of the synthetic chemicals, is a safer and cheaper way to take care of your garden:
-
Insect repellent
If you want to keep the bugs away all you need to do is to mix one tablespoon of olive oil, two tablespoons of baking soda, and a couple of drops of liquid soap with a gallon of water, and put all that in a spraying bottle. Spray the plant and you are good to go.
If you want to destroy cabbage worms all you need to do is to mix flour and baking soda in equal amounts and simply dust the produce.
To prevent from having ants all you need to do is to mix 5 tablespoons of baking soda with the same amount of powdered sugar, and a tablespoon of water, and a little bit of vinegar.
-
Fungus, Mildew, and Weeds
The solution for fungus is to mix 4 teaspoons of baking soda with one gallon of water.
By spraying a mixture of one tablespoon of baking soda, 2.5 tablespoons of horticultural oil, and one gallon of water you are protecting the fruits and veggies from mildew.
To prevent growing weed from her cracks on the sidewalk all you need to do is to apply water and a thick layer of baking soda into the cracks to create a paste.
