How to bleach socks to make them super white again

  1. Fill a Basin with Warm Water:
    • Pour about 1 liter of warm water into a basin, bucket, or sink.
  2. Add Baking Soda:
    • Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda to the warm water and stir until it dissolves. Baking soda is a natural cleaner and will help lift dirt and stains from the fabric.
  3. Add Vinegar:
    • Pour in 1 tablespoon of white vinegar. This creates a fizzy reaction that helps break down the grime and stains, making the socks whiter.
  4. Soak Your Socks:
    • Immerse your white socks in the solution. Let them soak for about 3 minutes. The combination of baking soda and vinegar will begin to lift stains and whiten the fabric almost immediately.
  5. Gently Scrub (If Needed):
    • After soaking for a few minutes, if there are any stubborn stains, use your fingers or a soft brush to gently scrub the fabric, especially around the toe or heel areas.
  6. Rinse and Wash:
    • After the 3 minutes, rinse your socks thoroughly with clean water. If needed, you can toss them into the washing machine for a full wash cycle to ensure they are completely clean.

Why it Works:

  • Baking soda acts as a gentle abrasive that helps scrub away dirt and stains.
  • Vinegar is a natural acid that works as a mild bleach alternative and helps whiten fabric without damaging it.
  • The combination of the two creates an effervescent reaction that lifts stains and helps restore the socks’ original whiteness.

Final Tip:

  • After rinsing and washing, dry your socks in the sunlight for an added whitening boost. The UV rays from the sun naturally help to bleach fabrics, giving them that crisp, white look.

This method is fast, eco-friendly, and effective, allowing your white socks to look as fresh and clean as when they were new!
