We’ve all seen it: a rainbow of plastic straws protruding from some unseen spot in our kitchen cabinets. These seemingly harmless tubes have a sinister side: the damage they do to the environment. We all remember being excited by them as kids.
Even though it’s just a straw, this apparently innocuous implement has come to represent needless trash. The environmental consequences are indisputable, given the daily disposal of millions of plastic straws. Then, how can we fix this?
